Lady Cat Youth Volleyball Camp Underway

Lady Cats Volleyball Coach Justin Maness wants his volleyball camp participants to have fun and that appeared to be the case Monday morning as the three-day camp opened. Camp for girls who will be entering fourth through the seventh grade took place in the main high school gym from 9 a.m. until noon while camp for girls entering eighth or ninth grade was from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Volleyball camp will continue through Wednesday.

Coach Maness said he was impressed as around 35 younger girls showed up Monday morning. He said he was excited to teach them volleyball. Coach Maness is hoping the girls have enough fun to want to play volleyball later on. He said he believed he spotted some future volleyball players. Coach Maness said the camp for the older girls would be different, more like a team practice.

Helping Coach Maness with volleyball camp are assistant coaches Jerrod Hammack and David Carrillo, Maness’ wife Brittany and middle school Coach Josh Neill.
