Wildcats, Lady Cats Compete at Area Track Meet in Lovejoy Thursday

The Wildcats’ track team will have six athletes in six events and the Lady Cats’ track team will have seven athletes in ten events at Thursday’s Area Track Meet at Lovejoy Stadium. Top four finishers in each event will qualify for the regional meet April 28-29 in Arlington.

For the Wildcats, Landry Tyson will compete in the high jump and in the 110-meter hurdles. Tyson is tied for fourth for the best result in the high jump among competitors. Ryan Humphries will run in the 100-meter dash and in the 300-meter hurdles. He has the fourth best time in the 300-meter hurdles race. Mason Buck will also run in the 300-meter hurdles and he has the second fastest time so far among competitors. Landon Thornton and Peyton Vickery will compete in the 3200-meter run. Ian Blanch will also compete in the shot put.

For the Lady Cats, Imani Taylor will be busy competing in the long jump, triple jump and in the 4 X 100-meter relay and the 4 X 200-meter relay. Taylor has the best mark in the long jump and the fourth best in the triple jump. The Lady Cats 4 X 100-meter relay time is the fastest in the field and their 4 X 200-meter relay mark is second fastest among competitors. With Taylor in the 4 X 100-meter relay are Abbi Baier, N’ysa Dugan and Sadavia Porter. With Taylor in the 4 X 200-meter relay are Sheretta Hill, Dugan and Porter. Hill will also compete in the 400-meter run. Dugan and Porter are also in the 100-meter dash. Baier and Faith Hatley are in the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. Baier has the third best time among competitors in the 100-meter hurdles and the fourth best time so far in the 300-meter hurdles. Sydney Washburn will run in both the 3200-meter run and 1600-meter run.
