Warrant Served for Animal Cruelty; Large Amount of Meth Found

When the Special Crimes Unit served two warrants on Juan Manuel Rodriguez-Aguilera, 48, of Sulphur Springs, marijuana and methamphetamine were in plain sight. A search of the room found an even larger amount of methamphetamine and two sets of digital scales.

Rodriguez-Aguilera is in Hopkins County Jail charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 4-gram but less than 200-grams ($30,000 bond), Possession of Marijuana more than 2 oz. but less than 4 oz. ($2,000 bond), and a warrant for Cruelty to Livestock Animal Neglect ($10,000 bond) and a warrant for Cruelty to non-livestock animals ($10,000 bond).
