Community Calendar March 30-April 8, 2017

The 55+ Health Fair will be Tuesday, April 4th at the ROC and 1st Baptist Church
from 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon.  There will be more than 50 Vendor Booths and every Vendor will bring a
$25.00 Door Prize  for your chance to win.    ETMC – Quitman will be doing FREE Cholesterol
Checks and other groups will be testing your Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar. Seniors are welcome to come and bring friends.  Feel free to educate yourself on health services being offered in the community.
Two Fish Fry fundraisers are planned on Saturday April 8, 2017. One is the Kerry Garmon Scholarship Dinner and Auction at the Saltillo school with serving starting at 6pm with tickets at $15 advance and $20 at the door. Proceeds benefit student scholarships. Another fish fry is planned in downtown Cumby with a motorcycle fun run and activities all day then serving of fish and trimmings starting at 4pm at a donation of $10 person. Proceeds will benefit the Hopkins Masonic Lodge #180 scholarship fund.
Each Friday night during Lent, a Fish Fry is held by Knights of Columbus at St. James Catholic Church at 297 Texas Street in Sulphur Springs. All-you-can-eat price is $15 and Fish Plate is $12, with children’s plate at $7. Serving starts at 6pm.
A public screening of the faith-based movie “A Heart That Remembers” will be held on Saturday April 1 at 6pm at Shannon Oaks Church. Tickets are $15 each. The movie is produced by M. Legend Brown of Terrell  and co-directed by Eric King of Sulphur Springs.
