Pearl Fredonia Cummings

Graveside services for Pearl Fredonia Cummings, age 92, of Sulphur Springs, have been scheduled for 11:00am on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Pleasant Grove North cemetery. Brother Dennis Morris will be officiating with Brother Tommy Hall assisting.  Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Peugh, Larry Pierson, Rusty Schulz, Brandon Price, Dustin Barrett and Bradley Edge.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Tapp Funeral Home.  Mrs. Cummings passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at her residence.

Pearl Cummings was born on September 5, 1924, in Alba, TX, the daughter of Tom Morris and Mantie Caddell Morris.  She married Billy Smith Cummings in Hugo, OK on December 30, 1941. Mr. Cummings preceded her in death.  Mrs. Cummings was a high school graduate, a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a member of the Davis Street Baptist Church for over 40 years.  She loved her church and all its members.

Survivors include:  daughters, Oleta Norton and husband, Frank of Belton, Becky Peugh and husband, Steve of Sulphur Springs and Jan Hammond and husband, Les of Clarksville; grandchildren, Julie Norton  and special friend, Abbe Wallace of Lorena, TX, Preston Peugh and wife, Courtney of Lake Cypress Springs, TX, Doug Hammond of Dallas, Daniel Hammond and wife, Sondra of Sachse, TX, Diana Spencer and husband, Matthew of Fort Worth and Elizabeth Hammond of Dallas;  great grandchildren, Paige Peugh of Mt. Vernon, Mickey Tubbs, Gentry Tubbs, Alex Henderson and Sydney Cannon of Arkansas, Sage Peugh of Glen Rose, Arkansas, Madeline and Megan Hammond of Sachse, TX, Talah, Gwyneth, Sadie Pettigrew and Abigail Spencer of Fort Worth and Christian Esquivel of Dallas; two brother, Don Morris of Greer, South Carolina and Roy Morris of Commerce, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Mantie Morris; husband, Billy Cummings; a grandson, Justin Peugh; three brothers and three sisters.

Donations may be made to Davis Street Baptist Church Building Fund or to Legacy Hospice

Arrangements are under the direction of Tapp Funeral Home.
