Melanie Marie Martin Harrison

Melanie Martin Harrison

On Wednesday, January 25, Melanie Marie Martin Harrison ascended the Stairway to Heaven to join the good Lord, all while her favorite tunes from the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith played on Heaven’s juke box. She was probably decked out in a fabulous outfit, wearing her signature red lipstick, and had a nice gift ready to give to God (because we all know how much she loved to give gifts).

Thank you to everybody that truly loved her one-in-a-million spirit. She was something else. God broke the mold when he made her, I am sure of it.

She was many things. She was kind. She was generous. She was caring. She was the Rolling Stones’ biggest fan. When she loved you, she loved you with all of her soul and every ounce of her being.

But the greatest thing that she was, was a Mom. She went above and beyond. It was the job that she was best at and what brought her the most joy in this world. I cannot thank God enough for allowing such a special and unique human being to bring me into this world and for having me carry out her legacy. I am honored.

We will miss her dearly, but I know that her spirit will continue to be part of our lives. She will continue to guide us, and she will stand by us through the good and the bad, just like she would if she were still here on Earth. And I am confident that she is not done surprising us all.

She is now in peace with the Lord and has found her happiness living out her many dreams in Heaven.

I know that when it is our turn to go to Heaven one of these days, she will be there waiting for us, wearing that big, beautiful smile swiped with red lipstick across her face, and with Joey, Odis, Precious, Granny Marie, and the rest of her loved ones by her side.

A memorial service has been set for Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

Online condolences may be sent to the Harrison family at www.fry-gibbs.com
