Obit PictureLarry Joseph Harder, 63, of Dike passed away on the afternoon of Monday, June 27, 2016 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, following a courageous battle with Leukemia.  His life was filled with God, love, family, and hard work.  He was born on July 22, 1952 in Ft. Sam Houston, TX to Frank Eugene Harder and Elizabeth “Betty” Louise (Scheel) Harder.  He married Pamela Dawn Hicks on November 23, 1995 in Dike.  Together, they have 5 children and 10 grandchildren, whom he adored.  Larry retired after over 41 years of employment with Oncor Electric Delivery, as a Lead Protection & Control Relay Technician. He was a member of Gafford Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Harder of Dike; mother, Betty Harder, of Sherman; sons, Larry Kevin Harder, of Denison; Joseph Kyle Harder and wife, Michelle, of Hill Air Force Base, Utah; and Zachary Ryan Brown and wife, Kristin, of Dike; daughters, Kristy Raquel Russell and husband, Michael, of Dike and Ashlea Dawn Petticrew and husband, Josh, of Bogata; sisters, Kay Lynn Burton, of Eustace and Sharon Ann Segrest, of Sherman; brother, Steven Bill Harder, of Pottsboro; grandchildren Makayla Harder, Mackenzie Matthews, Lane Harder, Heston Harder, Hannah Harder, Carter Wines, Zachary Brown Jr., Madilyn Petticrew, Kennley Russell and River Brown.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank, and his brother, John Frances Harder.

Funeral Services for Larry will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Jim Goodwin officiating.  Interment will follow at Gafford Chapel Cemetery with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
