Funeral services for Nellie Marie Duck, age 87, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 with Pastor Paul Pogue and Pastor Larry Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday June 26, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Nell stepped into the presence of her Savior Jesus, on Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was born in Linden, TX on July 5, 1928 the daughter of L.L. and Thelma Perser Beard. She married Raymond L. Duck on August 21, 1944 in Avenger, Texas. For those desiring, the family requests memorials to the Sandi Chester Feeding Program in the Philippines (through New Beginnings Fellowship) or to the Gideon’s International Bible Fund.
Survivors include: her husband, daughter, LaVerna Duck Hipp of Sulphur Springs, daughter-in-law Vicky Duck of Houston; four grandchildren, Teri Hipp Meskimen and Jason of McKinney, Catha Duck Jaynes and husband Ryan of Houston, Jamie Hipp and wife Jenny of Waco, and and Crista Duck Henderson and husband Nick of Bastrop; nine great grandchildren, Noah, Landry, McKenna, and Hunter Meskimen, Jordan, Taylor, and Karis Hipp, Parker Henderson, and Henry Jaynes; brothers, C.L. Beard and wife Carol Ann of Wickenburg, Az., and Jeral Beard of Snyder; sister, Dean Lefler of Decatur; sister-in-law, LaVern Beard of Linden, TX.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Louis Ray Duck,; son-in-law, Mike Hipp, and brother, Winford Beard.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
