PJC Welding With Caitlin Kimberlin

Caitlin Kemberlin

Caitlin Kimberlin is a rocking welding student at the Sulphur Springs PJC Campus. Caitlin is a 19 year old girl from Lone Oak, Texas who grew up dirt track racing and welding on her dirt track car. Racing and welding on the cars fueled her passion for fabrication, she is in her third semester of the program and will be graduating in August 2016. After graduation Caitlin aspires to travel for her occupation building roll cages for dirt track cars, but plans to return back to the Hopkins County area in the future.

PJC welding students attend class Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. They are all separate courses but they take place in the welding shop. Caitlin and many other students enjoy the hands on learning provided in the welding program. Some book work is assigned online, but Caitlin explained how valuable the hands-on experience has been to her and her future. She has been welding for many years before she enrolled in the program at PJC, but has learned many new skills to prepare her for what she’ll encounter in her career area.
