The quarterly Tira City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 1, at 6:00 p.m., at the Tira Community Center. The public is always welcome and encouraged to attend.

The community will have the opportunity to give input on the selection of the next Superintendent of North Hopkins Independent School District during an open session on Thursday, March 3rd, from 6-7 p.m., in the school cafeteria.

Kim Beck shared, “Our son, Jackson Dailey made the Dean’s List at Texas A&M-Commerce for the Fall 2015 session. Countdown to graduation in May!”

Yvonne Weir reported that Wesley had surgery last week at Children’s Health in Dallas. He is doing well.

Chip Vaughn celebrated his birthday, a little early, with family on Sunday. Our daughter, Tiffany, and friend, Darris Cross, and our grandchildren, Morgan and Jaidyn, and Chip’s mother, Grace, joined us for lunch. His birthday was on Monday, February 22nd. Chip, Grace, and I, also, celebrated his birthday with friends, Roy Smith, Keith and Francis Klein, and Shirley Charles at Los Mochis on Wednesday. Roy had been honored for his 90th birthday the week before.

I always need and appreciate input from my friends to help keep me informed of news in our community. If you have any news pertaining to Tira residents, past or present, please contact me, Jan Vaughn, at 903-945-2190 or 903-438-6688 or [email protected].
