A 33-year old Sulphur Springs man was arrested Friday night for assaulting and then threatening his girlfriend. Sulphur Springs Police officers responded to a disturbance call at a residence in the 100 block of South Como in Sulphur Springs at around 7:30 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, a man admitted assaulting his girl friend. She had injuries. As the man was being arrested, he said something in Spanish. Another man told officers he had said when he was released from jail, he was going to kill his girlfriend. The girlfriend believed him. The man is expected to have a magistrate’s hearing Sunday.
Edgar Antonio Velasquez of Sulphur Springs is charges of Assault Family Violence and Terroristic Threat. Bond for Valesquezwas set at $15,000 for each charge.
