Both the Wildcats and Lady Cats’ cross country teams qualified for regional competition with third place finishes at the district meet Thursday in Mt. Pleasant. Holt says Cross Country has only one shot at placing in district. He noted that any injury or sickness could totally affect the day’s district finish.

Cross Country Coach Andy Holt said the Lady Cats overcame several difficulties during the year. He was pleased with their over all performance Thursday. Lauren Helm and Taylor Robinson finished 14th and 15th to lead Lady Cat runners. Mt Pleasant placed first. Hallville was second.

Wildcats place third as well. Tanner Rameriz and Payton Vickery ran well for the boys. He said with a week and a half before regionals, Holt expects improvement for his other runners during that time. Hallsville placed first beating second place Pine Tree by two (2) points.
