Dairy Cattle are a major segment of the Hopkins County Dairy Festival. The Dairy Cow Show was conducted in the Regional Civic Center Arena on the first Saturday of the Dairy Festival. A number of dairy breeds were represented.
Here Hannah Caudle shows the Grand Champion in the All Other Breeds Division. With the win she took home the Don and Marilyn Smith Award. The Smith’s have owned and operated a dairy farm in Hopkins County for 40 years. They retired from the dairy business last year. Don was the M. C. for the Festival Queen Contestant Milking Contest Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Smith was also an Agrilife Extension Agent in Hopkins County.
