Tira News by Jan Vaughn, 5/1/2015

The Aiguier Cemetery Association will have their annual meeting and  homecoming on Sunday, June 7th, on the cemetery grounds. A pot-luck meal will be shared at noon, followed by visiting and a brief business meeting.

Robert and Yvonne Weir enjoyed time with their children and their families over the weekend. Dakota and Ashley visited them on Saturday and prepared lunch. Yvonne shares, “On Sunday we met Dustin, Natalie and a friend of theirs, along with Dacy and

the kids in Greenville and had lunch together at Rancho Viejo. On Tuesday Wesley had an appointment at Children’s [Medical Center in Dallas], so we stopped in Greenville and played a game of laser tag on the way home.”

Chip and I accompanied Chip’s mother, Grace Vaughn, to the 90-plus banquet at the Church of the Nazarene in Sulphur Springs on Saturday. We enjoyed a delicious meal and a wonderful program. Each attendee who was 90 years of age or older received a
certificate of recognition. We also visited with some of the quests, including my aunt,

Doris (Horn, Burkham) Moon and her daughter, Ruth Catherine Morrison, and Tira’s former mayor, John Hadley. We had planned to take a road trip to see wildflowers that afternoon, but Grace took a tumble and we spent the afternoon in the emergency room.

She has severe bruising and a swollen knee, but, thankfully, no broken bones.

Our daughter, Tiffany, and grandchildren, Morgan, Kenden, and Jaidyn joined us for lunch on Sunday. That afternoon Kenden and Jaidyn stayed with us, while Morgan and Tiffany attended a house-warming for Brad and KayLee Wood, son and daughter-in-
law of Debra Wood, of Tira, and then they went to a reception for Steve Hudson, in recognition of his promotion in the Civil Air Patrol.
