Family Effort at NETLA

Ashley, Angel, and Mariana Aguilar proudly pose with broiler chickens they all helped raise.

For 2 months they have been rising early each day to care for the birds. Through out the day, sometimes as frequently as every two hours, they make sure the birds are eating and doing well. The animals were fed Chicken Show Chow, with around 20 percent protein. The children are members of the North Hopkins 4-H Club.

All three enjoyed the project, and will participate next year. Angel has bigger plans for next year, a Black Headed Goat.

Grandpa Efrain Cortez has agreed to help prepare the chickens for the table.
