Funeral services for Doris Mae Yarbrough, age 82, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel Rev. Andrea Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Mel Haven Cemetery with Loyce Nash, Gaylon Berry, Richard Corona, Reginald Thomas, Prince Beachum and Michael Kelly serving as pallbearers. There will be no formal visitation.
Doris passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, TX. Doris was born on September 29, 1933 in Sulphur Springs. Doris worked for over 30 years as a restaurant cook and later as a caregiver in the homes of many residents in Sulphur Springs.
She is survived by her long time companion, Carter Sims, daughter Mae Jean Yarbrough, sons, James Yarbrough, Charles Yarbrough and Robert Hawkins all of Sulphur Springs, a host of grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, R. W. Yarbrough and Sonny Yarbrough, sisters, Ora Edwards and Ruby Weaver.
