Yvonne Weir underwent a total knee replacement on December 17th in Rockwall. Her daughter, Destri Weir, brought her home and cared for until Christmas day. On Christmas Eve Robert and Yvonne had 18 family members over for brunch, gifts and supper. Yvonne reports, “We had a great time.” She adds, “Brenda Allen and Jan Vaughn visited on the 23rd and brought lunch and on Friday the 26th Acie and Kiegan Shehan came for a visit.” Dakota Weir and Ashley visited her on the 28th and fixed lunch. Dacy Campbell and her family stopped by for a visit on Monday, the 29th, on their way to Beavers Bend. The Weir family wishes everyone a wonderful New Year.

Mick and Linda Petty started the year off right with good food and family. They had a great meal consisting of cornbread, cabbage, black eyed peas and fried chicken. Linda says, “Sure hope the cabbage and peas work, as I have always heard they bring prosperity. Those attending were James and Reagan Humphrey, Bill Clayton, Betty Lawson, Rick and Judy Petty and Ronnie, Amy, Mitchell and Macy Green. It is always great this time of year to be with our loved ones and now we are ready for 2015.”

Landon and Laiken Joslin were the special guests at a “gender reveal” party on New Year’s Eve, at the home of Laiken’s mom, Leigh Ann. Several of Landon and Laiken’s family members gathered to celebrate the announcement that they are having another boy!

Chip and I had a quiet evening at home, after the party, on New Year’s Eve. I spent a couple of days working on my scrap books. On New Year’s day Jacob and Tiffany Peugh and Morgan, Collin, and Kenden joined us for peas and cabbage, etc., for supper. After the meal Jacob, Tiffany, Chip, and I played 42, while the boys went to their house to play video games.

Landon, Laiken, Rylan, and Brailon enjoyed the traditional New Year’s meal with Laiken’s family.
