Funeral services for Floyd “Demp” Sturdevant, 84, of Miller Grove, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Brashear Baptist Church with Bro. David Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Miller Grove Cemetery with David Tipps, Jeff Wren, Kevin Tipps, Austin Tipps, Keith McCord, and Craig Buck serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Wilhite, Brian Everett, Jerald Wren, and Glenn Stroh. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to service time.

Mr. Sturdevant passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 12, 1930 in Whiteface, TX, the son of Edwin and Flora Vetter Sturdevant. He married Marlene Williams on June 1, 1951 in Lewisville, TX. She survives.

Mr. Sturdevant worked for Huffine’s Chevrolet for 30 years. He was a retired Minister and also retired as a janitor for Miller Grove ISD. He was a member of Brashear Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by daughters, Kathy Wren and husband Dwayne of Miller Grove, Cheri Tipps and husband Stevie of Miller Grove, grandchildren, Jeffrey Wren of Miller Grove, David Tipps and wife Wendy of Holly Lake Ranch, Kevin Tipps and wife Michelle of Sulphur Springs, Austin Tipps of Alba, great-grandchildren, Colton Tipps, Hanna Underwood, Dylan Tipps, Rebecca Tipps, sister, Dorothy Mitchell of Bridgeport, TX, loving pets, Cricket, Tinker, Cookie, as well as a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by daughter, Darlene Sturdevant and Bertie Sturdevant.
