On November 5, 8th District Court Judge Eddie Northcutt found Crayton guilty of murdering his wife, Jessica Tyler Townsend Crayton, in October of last year. The finding came after two days of testimony before the judge. Crayton faces a punishment range of from 5 years to life in prison without parole.
8th District Court Judge Eddie Northcutt sentenced Tony Dewayne Crayton to 50 years in prison at noon Monday for the murder of his wife, Jessica Tyler Townsend Crayton, in October last year. District Attorney Will Ramsey says Crayton will have to serve 25 years before being eligible for parole. The announcement by Judge Northcutt came after testimony from the victim’s mother and sister and from the defendant’s sister. Judge Northcutt found Crayton guilty on November 5. The defendant elected to take the case before Judge Northcutt instead of before a jury.
