Tira News by Jan Vaughn 11/20/14

The Tira Community Christmas Party is scheduled for Saturday, December 6th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Brisket will be provided and residents should bring side dishes and desserts. We’ve heard that Santa is planning to stop by and visit with the children. Make plans to come and enjoy a time of visiting with your neighbors.

The regular quarterly meeting of the Tira City Council will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd. Following the meeting the group will decorate the Community Center for the Christmas Party. The public is always welcome and encouraged to attend.

Congratulations to Betty Weir on receiving her 10-year pin from Texas Master Gardeners at the Texas Agri-Life Annual Recognition Banquet on November 13th!

North Hopkins School classmates met for their monthly “Girls Day Out” luncheon and early birthday celebration honoring Catheron Smith Camper. Meeting at Redneck Roadhouse on Tuesday, November 11, in addition to Catheron, were Nancy Wynelle Lawson Belz, Virginia (Julie) Price Miller, Jo Nell Crowson Horton, Gale Milligan and Betty Weir. Happy Belated Birthday to Catheron, whose birthday was on November 19th! Betty adds, “We called her Mary Catheron ‘way back when’. Now, some people call her ‘Cathy’.”

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving!

I forgot to send out a reminder for news this week. I hope to have more to report next time.
