Rodeo Starts Tonight

Here’s ways you can support Rodeo this week, as we head toward the Cinch UFR coming to town this weekend…

Take the kids to see the stagecoach on Celebration Plaza this Thursday night. It’s a beautifully restored Butterfield Stagecoach which belongs to a local owner.

Dress Western on Friday. Just wear your western duds to school, work and show your support of rodeo. And stop in at the KSST Studio and let us snap your photo for our website.

Also on Friday, it’s the Handicapable Rodeo, a very popular feature of rodeo week. Another popular feature is the crowning of this year’s Rodeo Queen, Miss UPRA, on Saturday night.

There are three rodeo performances scheduled, Friday and Saturday nights at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm, in the Civic Center arena. Get your tickets at Circle E Western Store and the Civic Center box office, and at the door.

SS Dodge will give away a truck to someone in attendance on Saturday night. Also, anyone who does not have a rodeo ticket can get in free that night starting at 9:30pm when the gates are open to all. The truck giveaway will be done at the end of Saturday’s rodeo performance and festivities.

THE CINCH UFR UNITED FINALS RODEO WILL BE IN TOWN THIS WEEKEND NOVEMBER 21-23 IN THE CIVIC CENTER ARENA.
THANKSGIVING IS THURSDAY NOVEMBER 27.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 29 IS “SHOP SMALL, SHOP LOCAL” DAY. SHOPPERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO INCLUDE LOCAL MERCHANTS, FAMILY-OWNED SHOPS AND MOM-AND-POP STORES AND BUSINESSES WHEN SHOPPING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON.

THE “LIGHTS OF LIFE” TREE LIGHTING AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IS PLANNED FOR THURSDAY DECEMBER 4 IN “THE GARDENS AT MEMORIAL”.

THE DOWNTOWN BIZ ALLIANCE ASKS THE PUBLIC TO BE ON HAND FOR THE TREE LIGHTING ON THE SQUARE ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 5 BETWEEN 5 AND 5:30PM.

SHORTLY AFTER THAT, AT DARK, THE LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE WILL STEP OFF FROM BUFORD PARK TO CROSS THE SQUARE AND HEAD NORTH ON CHURCH STREET. FIND YOUR PLACE ALONG THE PARADE Rt

THAT SAME WEEKEND, THE N E TEXAS CHORAL SOCIETY’S “ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS “ CONCERT WILL BE PRESENTED IN TWO PERFORMANCES ON DEC 6 AND 7….SAT DEC 6 AT 7PM AND SUNDAY DEC 7 AT 2PM….IN THE CIVIC CETNER AUDITORIUM. TICKETS ARE $10 ADULT, $5 FOR CHILDREN, IN ADVANCE OR AT THE DOOR. THIS YEAR, A SPECIAL FAMILY PACKAGE IS BEING OFFERED. BUY TWO ADULT TICKETS AND ONE CHILD’S TICKET, AND THE OTHER CHILDREN IN THE FAMILY WILL BE ADMITTED FREE.
