Coach Owens on the Ennis Playoff Game

The Wildcats’ football team came up short in a bi-district game but they battled to the very end losing to Ennis, 52-47 in Lindale Friday night. Quarterback Larry Pryor scored five rushing touchdowns including three in a wild fourth quarter as the Wildcats cut into what was at one time an 18-point Ennis lead. Pryor ended the season with 26 rushing touchdowns. Back Jaylon Hawkins also scored two rushing TDs including an electrifying 61-yard score early in the third quarter. The Wildcats saw their season end with a 5-6 record. It was the final game for some 24 Wildcats seniors.

Saturday morning Wildcats Football Coach Greg Owens said over and over he was proud of his team after their season ending 52-47 bi-district loss to Ennis Friday night in Lindale. Coach Owens said his team played their most complete game of the season. He added you cannot ask anymore of yourself or others if you give it all you’ve got. Coach Owens said he wished the team had one more shot this week.
