Miller Grove News by Brandon Young 10/21/14

The biggest news in the community this week is the school’s annual Fall Carnival. Please make plans to attend this Friday night. There will be stew and chili served as the evening meal, games and booths in the old gym, and later BINGO for all ages. As always, this is a great fundraiser for the school. Each individual class and the PTO benefits greatly from the Fall Carnival. The money made at this fundraiser helps the students and PTO to have money to run on until next year at this time. So, come on out and have a big bowl of Lewis Russell’s famous stew and the chili I am going to make and have a good time supporting our local school.

Hollis Garmon recently celebrated his 95th birthday at Cracker Barrel Restaurant. Congratulations on this milestone birthday!

Happy Birthday this week to my cousin Hunter Darrow, Holly (Garmon) Grant & Mari (DelCastillo) Berry on Oct. 19; Jamie (White) Dixon on Oct. 20; my uncle Kenneth Smith, Bettye (Stripling) Dunegan, Joan Garrett, & Chase Lee on Oct. 21; Jeff Wren & Cindy (Tate) Russell on Oct. 23; and Dichele Smith on Oct. 25.

Happy 4th Anniversary to Cory and Callie (Smith) Glover on Oct. 23.

Congratulations to Clark and Jessica (Wagley) May who will be having their third little girl in March. Clark is a 2001 MG graduate and Jessica graduated the following year.

Miller Grove FFA students Tatom Sink, Hannah Caudle and Lacey Taylor recently received second place award in the chili cook off at the seventh annual Help-A-Child benefit. Way to go guys!

Speaking of MG FFA, if you have a Facebook account please take a moment to look up Miller Grove FFA Chaper’s page and click the Like button. Looks like this year’s chapter officers are doing a great job so far!
