“Updated” Cover Girl & Fall Festival Events Kick off With the Parade Saturday

With its move to October, Fall Festival conducted its’ annual parade Saturday with temperature in the mid-sixties. Parade marshals were members of the Bill Bradford family. Cover Girl Sarah Weatheread and this year’s four hopefuls each had floats. Also represented were youth groups, dance groups, churches, businesses, tractors, fire trucks and other large trucks

Shelbie Lackey of Cumby, Kortne Wilson of Saltillo, Miranda Rushin of North Hopkins and Morgan Mayers of Sulphur Springs are competing to be Fall Festival Cover Girl. Tuesday events at the Equine Pavilion include cow milking, saddling and mounting a horse, a calf scramble and tractor driving. Thursday features hay stacking, sewing and cutting up a chicken. Reigning Cover Girl is Sarah Weatheread of North Hopkins.

Fall Festival Board Member Tracy Dennis is in charge of the Kids’ Zone at Fall Festival coming up Friday and Saturday at the Equine Pavilion. Ms. Dennis says attractions will include a petting zoo, a magician who does balloon figures, kid printing, hair and face painting, pet adoption, a bounce house, horseshoe and washer pitching, roping dummies, a giant chalkboard to write on and digging for toys in deer corn.
