Wildcats at Liberty-Eylau

The Wildcats’ football team showed they still have a lot to work on in a first scrimmage Friday night at Liberty-Eylau. The Wildcats did manage the only score during the plays part of the scrimmage as quarterback Drew McCullough threw a touchdown pass to Christian Jackson. Defensive End Bryton Wood stood out during the running clock portion getting two interceptions, one that he returned for a touchdown. Tanner Ramirez also kicked a 28-yard field goal in the 13-10 loss to the Leopards during the running clock portion.

Perhaps the most important thing to come out of the Wildcats’ Friday night scrimmage at Liberty-Eylau was the video. Wildcats Coach Greg Owens said coaches would be studying it and picking it to death to point out mistakes made Friday night. All the mistakes were correctable according to Coach Owens. He did praise defensive end Bryton Wood for his two interceptions, one he ran back for a touchdown. The Wildcats scrimmage Royse City at Prim Stadium Friday night.
