Jim Bayuk Says Goodbye SS, Hello SSISD

At his Farewell Party Thursday, outgoing Sulphur Springs Police Chief Jim Bayuk said he was speechless. He called it a good day. It capped his 19-year career with the police department, 13 years as chief. He said the department wouldn’t miss a beat with his departure. Bayuk said recent promotions were deserved and he said the department contained a good group of dedicated men and women. He added he was looking forward to his new job with the Sulphur Springs ISD Police Department that begins Friday.

You could almost hear one door close and another open Thursday at the city of Sulphur Springs Farewell Party for outgoing Police Chief Jim Bayuk. After 19 years with the city police department, Friday Bayuk will begin his career as an officer with the Sulphur Springs ISD. Bayuk said he was excited about the job. He said he looked forward to seeing the smiling faces of school children. Bayuk said he would take a bullet to protect students, faculty and visitors to schools. He revealed he would be leading the school police department working with Assistant Superintendent Randy Reed.
