We want to express our sympathy to Tami Joslin and her family in the loss of her father, Martin W. Cooper, Sr. He passed away on Monday. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulkey Mason Funeral home in Denton, with family night on Wednesday, from 6-8, and the funeral service on Thursday at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held at the North Hopkins Cemetery, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00. Please remember the family in your prayers.

Descendents of Alfred and Fannie Vaughn will gather at the North Hopkins School Cafeteria for a family reunion on Saturday, July 26th, from 11:00 to 3:00. They will share a covered dish lunch at noon.

John and Stephanie Long will be honored with a wedding reception at the North Hopkins School Cafeteria on Saturday, August 9th, at 2:00 p.m. John, a former North Hopkins student, is the son of Tommy and Carolyn Long. The couple were recently wed in New Orleans, Louisiana, and they reside in Alvin, Texas.

Robert ,Yvonne and Wesley Weir went to Paris to church with Dakota Weir, for his 25th birthday. Later they drove to Rockwall for a birthday party for their grandchildren, Elise and Eli Campbell, at the Rockwall swimming pool. Yvonne says, “There were lots of kids and friends and family there.”

Sheila Boyd reports, “We have really enjoyed watching the grey fox that visits the property across the street each evening. We were able to show my mom and grandkids this weekend. Josie and Dallas had a good time playing outside and visiting with their dad. Josie is ready to go school clothes shopping. Notice, I said ready for clothes shopping and not ready for school.” Sheila adds that the work on their house is going well. The inside is being painted this week and they are expecting cabinets shortly. She exclaims, “Woo-hoo! Getting closer!”

Jackson Dailey will be returning home on Sunday after a month-long history course in London, England. He is ready for some home-cooking and family time. Derek and Michelle Dailey are in Albuquerque, New Mexico hiking. Jason Beck is finishing up his summer classes at UT – Austin and Maddie Beck is enjoying her summer job at the Tennis Center in Grapevine. Lee and Kim Beck welcomed their new puppy, a Red Heeler named Corrina.

Morgan Joslin attended the Civil Air Patrol Glider Academy in Nacogdoches last week. He added 20 glider flights this year, for a total of 51. He had a good week and reported that he only needs 2 more flights and .4 hours, before taking his written exam and check ride for his glider license!

Jaidyn Joslin, along with several other friends of Hannah Caviness, joined Hannah for a Back Yard Splash Party at her home on Saturday morning. The kids enjoyed a treasure hunt and other games and slipping and sliding on the inflatable water slide. Amanda Caviness and Ricky and Kathy Glosup hosted the party and guests were treated to hot dogs, chips, fruit, cookies, and ice cream for lunch.

Landon, Laiken, Rylan, and Brailon Joslin traveled to Sour Lake on Saturday, to visit Landon’s daughter, Dixie. From her expressions in the pictures, she seemed to really enjoy playing with the boys and especially holding Brailon! Landon, Laiken, & the boys spent Saturday night in Beaumont and returned home on Sunday.
