Sulphur Springs School Board Hears 2009 Project Graduation Report, Accepts Another High School Science Teacher Resignation
July 15, 2008 |
The Sulphur Springs School Board received a presentation on the proposed 2009 Graduation
Celebration at their Monday night meeting. Teacher Evelyn Tate and Fine Arts Secretary Cindy Welch led a group of teachers, sponsors and parents in making the presentation. Changes are being considered even in location. Past graduation parties have occurred at the High School. The presenters said they were interested in surveying in-coming seniors to get their opinions.
Concerning personnel hirings and resignations, Superintendent Patsy Bolton seems mostly concerned with three vacant science teaching positions at the High School after another resignation was accepted Monday night. Ms. Bolton says Sulphur Springs has a hard time competing with salaries offered in other parts of Texas and there is no help coming from the state.
