SSISD Superintendent Says This Year’s Budget to be a Challenge with Rising Costs and Flat State Funding

The Sulphur Springs School Board will have budget workshops on July 28, August 11 and August 25. Superintendent Patsy Bolton says hopes are to prepare a balanced budget. She says this will be a challenge this time with rising fuel and utility costs and with state funding at the same level as last year. Ms. Bolton says the district is also expected to lose funds due to state wishes to mainstream as many special ed students as possible into regular classes.
