Renovation Work on 2nd Floor of SSISD Admin Building to House Houston School Programs is Progressing

Work crews continue to renovate part of the Sulphur Springs ISD Administration Building to house several programs currently at Houston School. With the Even Start program losing its’ funding, the district decided to use those three 2nd floor classrooms and a remodeled old 1922 library and classroom for the district’s Alternative Learning, Discipline, Drop Out Prevention and Behavioral programs. Workers are busy adding ac, new lighting, paint, fire alarms and carpet to the old library and classroom. Director of Plant Operations Dale Guest feels the renovation will come together quickly, perhaps in a couple of weeks.
