The Texas Forest Service is encouraging everyone to be careful when using fireworks. They note fireworks are an exciting part of 4th of July celebrations but can be dangerous if proper and safe use is not followed. Tom Spencer, fire risk assessment coordinator for the Texas Forest Service says it only takes a spark to start a wildfire. He adds fireworks and especially aerial fireworks can be the source of that spark. The Texas Forest Service recommends not using fireworks near dry grass or buildings.
