Early Voting is Light So Far For Sulphur Springs City Council Race

Voters have just been trickling in to vote early for the one race being contested on the Sulphur Springs City Council. Challenger Charles Oxford is facing current council member and Mayor Yolanda Williams for the Place 7 seat. As of early Wednesday morning, only 39 voters had cast ballots early. Voting is taking place at City Hall weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day except Thursday, May 1 when polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Early voting will continue weekends through Tuesday, May 6. Regular election date is Saturday May 10 with voting taking place at the Sulphur Springs School Administration Building on Connally Street from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. KSST will have election coverage of all Hopkins County’s city and school elections on Saturday night May 10 right after polls close.
