At the official Sulphur Springs Weather Station, it rained twice as much in March as it did in January and February combined. The 10.3 inches of rain for March brings the annual total to 15.38 inches. That’s 5 inches above normal. In other March statistics, we hade a little bit of snow on March 7. Coldest day of the month was March 8 with 24 degrees. Hottest day was 82. The monthly average high and low were both within a degree of normal. March also brought hail to Sulphur Springs. The roofs of homes and vehicles outside were pounded with hailstones Saturday and Sunday mornings in parts of the area. One piece of hail had a diameter of 2.5 inches and many were at least golf ball size. If April turns out to be an average month we’ll get 4 and a third inches of rain and have an average high of 75 and an average low of 51.
