Glen Melancon is a Sherman history professor who is running for Congress. He faces VaLinda Hathcox of Sulphur Springs in the March Democratic Primary. The winner will face the GOP Primary winner in November. Recently Melancon spoke at a forum sponsored by the Political Enlightenment Group. Melancon says if elected he will put the interests of people ahead of the interests of corporate special interests. He wants to be the voice of families. Melancon also says he favors letting Iraqis gradually take care of their country. He says U.S. troops have bravely done all they can be expected to do.
