7th Grader at Sulphur Springs Middle School Wins County Spelling Bee

12-year old Ashley Clegg, a 7th grader at Sulphur Springs Middle School won the Hopkins County Spelling Bee Thursday afternoon. She correctly spelled “dyslexia” and “tamale” to win in 12 rounds. The Dallas Morning News sponsors the event. There were spellers from the Middle School as well as Douglas Intermediate School and Como-Pickton. Ashley will advance to the next level of competition in Dallas on March 15.
