Equine Pavilion at County: Play Now | Play in Popup

Sometime in March, the Hopkins County Equine Pavilion is expected to be finished up so that it can hold larger events. Precinct 1 County Commissioner Beth Wisenbaker says she expects the finished facility to exceed the original vision for the building. When the facility was pronounced as completed in late 2006, its only use was as a horse barn. City inspectors would not allow it to be used for anything else. Earlier this month, the city approved architects’ plans for upgrading the facility. During a work session Monday, the court met with facility contractor Harrison Walker and Harper. The court and contractor discussed materials needed to finish it. The court is expected to approve the list at a meeting next week.
