During a work session of the Hopkins County Commissioners Court Monday, former County Judge Joe Minter surprised those present by suggesting a new site for the proposed Veterans Memorial. Minter said he would like to see it on the grounds around the VFW Hall off of I-30 in Sulphur Springs. Veterans Memorial Committee members Clayton McGraw and Don Roundtree also showed off the latest plan for the memorial on the Downtown Square. Precinct 1 County Commissioner Beth Wisenbaker said the court listened to both sides that are expected to get together and talk at some later point.
