At a meeting next Tuesday, the Sulphur Springs City Council will consider an ordinance that would amend zoning in the Central Commercial District so that businesses there, especially restaurants, can apply for specific use permits to serve alcohol. City Manager Marc Maxwell explains that The Winery in Winnsboro is very interested in opening a food and wine restaurant in downtown Sulphur Springs. The Planning and Zoning Commision recently approved the proposed ordinance unanimously.
