Don Smith of Sulphur Springs Named to Texas Beef Council

Sulphur Springs beef, dairy and hay producer Don Smith has been elected to represent cattle producers on the Texas Beef Council board of directors. Smith was elected by the Texas Farm Bureau. Smith will serve on the nutrition committee of the board. The nutrition committee approves and evaluates state check-off funded programs in the areas of consumer nutrition promotions, health professional outreach and education, and youth nutrition initiatives. The committee also reviews beef research projects. Smith has also served for several years on the Texas Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
