SSHS Band Solos and Ensembles Earn Top Scores at State

Two solos and two ensembles from the Sulphur Springs High School Band picked up difficult to achieve first division ratings at state competition at UT Austin this past weekend. Director of Bands Charles McCauley said the competition is the toughest in the country. First division soloists included Kaci Mohon on clarinet and Shelby Blezinger on tuba. First division ensembles included the saxophone quartet of Robin Grafton, Rosalynn Karstens, Jacob Mazoch and Caitlyn Scudder and the percussion ensemble of Shelby Blezinger, Paul Clark, Dusty McQueen, Sarah Fox, Morgan Lutz, Jordan Owens and Whitney Starrett.
